The Owensboro Distribution Center began operations on January 5, 1998.

Since opening, UniFirst has experienced 300% growth in output.

UniFirst operates in a multi-shift environment.

The distribution center is a 360,000+ sq. ft. facility.

UniFirst has 520 employee team partners in Owensboro.

Fiscal Year output for 2024 is 20 million units with around 16 million emblems manufactured annually.

Local first responders participate in a technical rescue exercise at the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport.

Firefighters utilized ropes to reach a second story window in the training tower, before dropping down into a confined manhole to rescue a patient.

Assistant Chief Eric Coleman says these rope rescue techniques could be deployed in a rural or industrial setting.

The Daviess County Fire Department and Owensboro Fire Department provide mutual aid to neighboring communities, as needed.

The Daviess County Fire Department deployed the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) truck for a live exercise with a helicopter prop.

The ARFF vehicle is stationed at Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport and can be operated by a single firefighter for quick attack in the event of an emergency.

Firefighters also trained on hand line operations, in a scenario where fire had reached the cockpit of the aircraft.

FFA Week concludes at Apollo High School with "Drive Your Tractor to School Day."

The National FFA Organization is preparing students for leadership and careers in science, business, and technology of agriculture.

Located 10 miles west of Owensboro between Sorgho and Stanley on the Green River, Birk City is a quiet river town surrounded by farmland.

It was the site of one of the largest oil strikes in the State of Kentucky and the birthplace of the Green River Distillery.
